At the top of the Gavia Pass, surrounded by unspoiled nature, there is only the “Don Eugenio Bussa” High Mountain House and the Bonetta Refuge.
An oasis at 2652 meters above sea level.
The High Mountain House is a large facility established in 1948 and has grown over the years to house groups of young girls/girls during the summer. It is spread over three floors plus attic and can accommodate large groups of people. Energy-wise it is totally self-sufficient: electricity is provided by a generator set, heating by a gas boiler.
On the ground floor there are two small rooms, one of which has a fireplace, and a large dining room with eighty seats. The latter is connected to a large and professional kitchen equipped with all necessary equipment. The kitchen also communicates with a pantry with refrigerator and freezer where supplies can be stored for the period of your stay. Finally, the ground floor is equipped with recently renovated toilet facilities.
As a support point is Rifugio Bonetta, which in the past has always cooperated for the best success of vacations in the beautiful and enchanting location of the Gavia Pass.
It is possible to rent the house for large and smaller groups, such as sports groups for gatherings, parishes for summer camps, and for anyone who would like to create a private event. Tell us about your idea, don’t hesitate to contact us!
However, it is also possible, if there are no rooms available at the Refuge, to stay overnight inside the Casa della Montagna, but use the breakfast, lunch and dinner service at the Refuge.
Going up to the upper floors are the bedrooms, which have 2-4-6 places each up to the 12 places in the nice attic dormitory.
All rooms have windows and radiators. A few rooms have private bathrooms, while for the others there are numerous common facilities on each floor.
The Casa della Montagna “Don Eugenio Bussa” has its strength in the combination of all the necessary amenities and a truly unique and wonderful location.
